Avignon the walled city!

Avignon, France

Ever wonder how it feels like to live inside a walled city? call me a nerd but i adore 'King Arthur' and 'Robin Hood' when i was a kid. Now that im older i have some sort of fascination with everything from Victorian
Era.

So.. in order to satisfy my childhood imagination and of course tasting a bit of wine from cote-d-azure region as per my travelling friend advise (of course!) i have decided to tag along to Avignon. Funny thing is we arrived in this ultra modern train station which nowhere look medieval to me, but after a 15 bus ride from the station all i see is one big giant wall...yes i was extremely impressed, when i stepped into the city wall i was speechless, its such a different feeling and my brain is starting to imagine things on how things would look like back then.

The current Avignon is pretty modern with shops, H&M and even an Irish Bar stashed away conveniently around the corner. Plais Du Pope is very interesting however pretty expensive to get in and it takes you at least a day to get around and guarantee you'll get sore feet from walking around on cobble stone all day.

One thing i learned from it is DO NOT PAY TO SEE THE HALF BUILD BRIDGE, just the walk around outside the wall and you'll bound to have a better view of it.

There is not much night entertainment there but nice little city to relax and unwind. Therefore to entertain ourselves we did a wine tour and it was fun, the wine region is stunning and people are just very nice and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the little villages, i even managed to fall asleep in the middle of a public picnic table. When i look up i can see the sunshine trough the green leaves its so beautiful that i recommend you to actually have a micro sleep ...zzZZZzzz
